My First Blog Candy Entry!!!!!

Wow... is all I can say about this tasty blog candy!!!!Have you checked out Make it Crafty Big News Giveaway Candy! I will be honest,  I was not a follower, but I am so one now. Now I know what your thinking..."because of the blog candy she has to offer"... No, I actually spent some time checking out Make it Crafty blog and I absolutely love her work. TONS of talent I only wished that I had.  Zoe asked to check out her favorite 3 post and pick one of our favorites and why. The post I picked was the Pop Up Card post.  I have always been in love with turtles and this one just stood out to me. When I was younger I also loved pop up books and this card is just so darn cute. Don't you think?? You can check out this post here

It a Toy Story Theme!!!!!!

Well after much time spending on PTO business, I am finally making time for crafting again. My son turns 6 in June and I really wanted to make my own birthday invites for him. I was searching for some time for a file for SCAL because I just don't have the time yet to sit down and create my own files. So after much searching, Lindsay from The Frugal Crafter's posted her free file for me to snag!!! This was perfect and now I am so happy that I have finally finished them!!!! I decided to make 20 invites for my son's class and a few extra for friends not in his class. I did not have the same stamp as Lindsay, but found these cute Toy Story Martian stickers that fit perfect inside the gear. As much as I love the screw brads on Lindsay's card, I just went with plain silver brads. To save time I used Gunmetal Stickles for the small gears rather than using eyelets. I do want to make sure that Lindsay knows how thankful I am for her sharing her file with me!!!! My son was so excited after I finished the first one that he ask if he could have one too. How cute. He is so in love with Toy Story right now.

Once again, Thank you so much Lindsay for your AWESOME file!!!!! I hope you like the way it turned out.
I really missed playing around with my cricut with my SCAL software!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Starting to take time for myself.

In the last 2 months or so I have finally been able to sit down at night and work on crafts. No pages, just ART. I recently joined the yahoo group
ART Haven Creations Friendships I have always admired the vintage, nostalgic and just artsy look. The ladies in the group are just so warm and welcoming. I use to swap a lot and that really use to get me in the mood to scrapbook. So I joined in some of their swaps. Though I am not use to sending different swaps to different places because they do 1 for 1 swaps, I really have enjoyed it. Here are some of the swaps I created for the group swaps.

This was a card swap that you had to use purple, gold and green colors. Mardi Gras Colors!!! This card reminded me of my good friend Kristine!!

This swap was for a destination tag. I have no clue why I picked Paris or London but I thought it turned out okay. I love the color combination.

Now I must be out of my mind for taking on this swap, but it sounded fun. This is a altered compact. I purchased the compact at the 100 Yen shop. The neat thing about this make up compact is that it was a refillable compact to where the metal powder container popped right out. NO MESS. This actually was very fun to make.

These are swaps for March using wallpaper that a group member sent out to members of the group. There are so many gorgeous pattens in the stack she sent me. I like the way this one came out.

A few ATC's I decided to create and just play around with. Nothing fancy. Took out the Alcohol Inks and used some wallpaper.

Last I made some altered notebooks. My old notebooks were just about filled up. So I decided to make one for just passwords and one for swaps.
Now I think I am going to start back up on some more scrapbook pages.
